What does Trex recommend for cleaning deck boards?

Trex recommends routine cleaning twice a year using warm, soapy water and a soft bristle brush, which handles most everyday dirt, pollen, and light mildew on its high-performance product lines like Transcend, Enhance, and Select. For deeper cleaning, a pressure washer can be used, but only under roughly 3,100 PSI, with a fan-tip nozzle held at least 8 inches from the board surface, moving in broad strokes that follow the wood grain pattern. Older, uncapped Trex product lines are more sensitive and are generally not recommended for pressure washing at all, since it can expose wood fibers and void the warranty. Trex explicitly advises against bleach, ammonia-based cleaners, solvents, and abrasive scrubbers on any of its decking, since these can strip color and damage the protective surface coating.
