Can you pressure wash granite?
Yes, granite is a durable, dense stone that generally tolerates pressure washing well, making it a reasonably safe choice for granite countertops, pavers, and outdoor granite surfaces. That said, moderate pressure around 1,500–2,000 PSI with a wide-angle nozzle is recommended rather than maxing out a machine’s output, since excessive pressure can wear down sealants faster than normal use and expose the stone’s natural pores to staining. If your granite is sealed, check how recently it was sealed — pressure washing can shorten a sealant’s lifespan, meaning more frequent resealing afterward. Avoid harsh, high-alkaline cleaning chemicals directly on granite, since some can degrade sealants over time even though the stone itself resists physical damage. A simple water rinse, or a granite-safe cleaner, is often all that’s genuinely needed.
